The new Entertainment Weekly has a review of the DVD of the director's cut of Donnie Darko. Very much in line with my feelings after seeing this in the theater.
EW sez:
"This edition suffers from explication overkill, interspersing too many passages from Donnie's time travel textbook and Watership Down. After all, it is still the Lynch-lite obscurity of [writer-director Richard] Kelly's vision that makes his work provocative."
Now playing: Interpol, Antics
On the nightstand: Dodie Bellamy, Pink Steam
